The Disappearing Gender Gap in Entrepreneurship: A Multi-Level Analysis

Using a comprehensive dataset spanning 45 countries over two decades, we examine the evolution of gender gaps in entrepreneurship. Our multi-level analysis reveals that while the gender gap in entrepreneurial entry has narrowed significantly, persistent disparities remain in venture funding, growth trajectories, and exit outcomes. Institutional factors, particularly access to childcare and parental leave policies, explain much of the cross-country variation.
